Family Vacation to California-Spring Break 2009
Our Family Vacation to California was amazing! We had such a wonderful time together and were blessed to have Grandma and Grandpa Trejo go with us. We were able to go to Sea World for a day, we spend 2 1/2 days at Disneyland/California Adventures, and then spent 2 days in Avila Beach/San Luis Obispo with Grandma Hawthorne, and Aunt Barbara & Uncle Roger. We went to Avila Beach & Morrow Bay and spent time at the beach. The kids had fun collecting sea shells! What a memorable trip! We loved every moment and made so many fun memories. The one regret we had was that we felt like we should have spent more time with Grandma. Grandma is 94 years old and still going strong. She is incredible! She is so witty and full of life! I am so grateful that our kids were able to go spend time with her and get to know her a little. FAMILY, THANK YOUR FOR MAKING OUR FAMILY VACATION SO WONDERFUL. I LOVE YOU!

I LOVE YOU, DAD

My Dad has been on my mind a great deal lately because he has been so ill. It has been 4 years since he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He has done well with this horrible disease, however as time has gone on his poor body is taking a terrible beating! In September of 2007 he found out that the cancer had gone to his bones and he was experiencing a lot of pain. With pain medication he has been able to keep a handle on the pain. In September 2008 he started to experience more difficulties, needing more care than he has ever needed before. Since the first of the year he has been hospitalized twice. He is slowly regaining his strength which is so wonderful! Keep up the great work Dad!
It is so hard to see him need so much care! We all love him so much and we will do anything for him, but it just brings tears to my eyes to see him suffer so bad. My heart breaks to see him this way!
Dad has always had a great attitude and outlook on life. He is a great man! He is a wonderful Spouse, Father and Grandfather. Thank you for all that you do for me, Dad! I am so blessed to have such an amazing Father!
Love,
Your Daughter, Kris

Great Job, Amanda!

I want to recognize our daughter Amanda for doing so well at the Eagle, Idaho Debate Tournament this weekend. She is now in her second year of debate and does a great job! She and her debate partner won 4 out of 5 rounds this weekend and the one they lost was by one speaker point. GREAT JOB, Amanda!
It amazes me the skills that she is learning! She has learned so many valuable skills that she will be able to use the rest of her life. Maybe she will decide she wants to become a Lawyer, although at this point in the game she is very interested in Dermatology.
Thanks to Mrs. Clawson, Blackfoot High School Debate Teacher/Coach who has challenged Amanda to try new things and stick with debate. She was so close to giving it up when her best friend, Lucy passed away in August, considering that she was going to be Amanda's debate partner.
Keep up the great work, Amanda! The many hours of time that you spend will most certainly pay off in the long run. You will be glad that you stayed focused and stuck with it even though it isn't easy.
I love you, Amanda!

Brrr... A Very Windy, Chilly January Afternoon

Children are such an amazing gift of joy! Our children bring us so much happiness and bless our lives so much! Time certainly does not stand still! I am in awe at how fast our kids are growing up. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father daily for blessing me with such special spirits who teach me more than they can even comprehend. Amanda, Bri, Kate, and Carson, I want you to know how much I love you! Love, Mom

Introducing Our Christmas Puppy, Tyke!
Tyke is our new 6 week old Shorkie puppy (Yorkie/Shihtzu). He is absolutely the cutest little guy! His personality is so spunky and fun! The kids had no idea that they would be getting a puppy for Christmas, although it was on the top of all of their lists. They just figured that they would never get that longed for friend.
Christmas morning was so much fun! The kids came running up the stairs and Amanda eyed Tyke first. He was asleep in his doggy bed and behind him was a Yorkshire Terrier Magazine and a doggy Christmas stocking. Amanda ran over there and swept Tyke out of his bed and fell to the floor and was just so excited. She quickly got the other kids attention and they all just loved on Tyke for the longest time.
This was truly one of the most memorable Christmas's that our kids have had. We had so much fun planning for this new addition to our family and were lucky that the kids didn't catch us in the act when Rob brought Tyke home from our friends, The Brown's on Christmas Eve. Thanks to the Brown's for taking care of Tyke for 1 1/2 days until we could surprise our kids with one of the most memorable Christmas's we have had.

Kaityn's Photo Shoot by Mom

I assure you that I am not a professional photographer by any means, but I someday would love that! I love photography and just can't get enough pictures. Ask my kids, I always am taking pictures and snapping that flash in their eyes. Thank you for being patient with me! Kaitlyn and her friend Laine were dressed in their Dancers Company uniforms when we went to the park and so I decided it would be fun to play around taking their pictures. So here you go....
I MISS MY UTAH FRIENDS!

Thursday, my friend Kami Nelson texted me and suggested that I come down on Saturday for a girls day out. I have needed a break for a very long time and so I jumped on the chance! I woke up early Saturday morning and was in Cache Valley by 8:30 a.m. I decided to stay the night and come home early sunday morning so I could make it for church.
To be honest, I cannot get enough of my friends because they are more like sisters than friends! Since I never had sisters I have found them in amazing friendships of amazing women who have touched my life and have been such incredible examples.
I was able to see 5 of my great friends! Shellie, Sheila, Brooke, Kami and Pat. I love you all so much and I thank you for the amazing time that I had on Saturday! I haven't laughed so much for a long time! We can't wait as long to get together! Our next Girls Retreat is being planned for January, so be thinking!
HALLOWEEN 2008

AMANDA-ANGEL BRIANNE-PEBBLES KAITLYN-FAIRY CARSON-BATMAN
WE HAD A FABULOUS HALLOWEEN! AMANDA HAS BEEN PLANNING A HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR OVER A MONTH AND SO WE WERE BUSY FINALIZING EVERYTHING FOR THIS. THE PARTY WENT WELL DESPITE HAVING 30 TEENAGERS ALL DRESSED UP HERE IN OUR HOME. THEY WENT ON A SCAVENGER HUNT, ATE LOTS OF YUMMY FOOD AND WATCHED A SCARY MOVIE. AMANDA IS SUCH THE SOCIAL GIRL! SHE LOVES TO HAVE FUN!
BRIANNE'S HALLOWEEN FUN STARTED AT SCHOOL WITH A DANCE (YIKES), AND GAMES. SHE WAS NOT THRILLED THAT THERE WAS A DANCE. BRIANNE IS NO INTO THE BOY SCENE AT ALL! BRIANNE AND HER FRIEND TANEESHA WENT TRICK OR TREATING AND THEN THEY CAME BACK HERE TO HANG OUT AND EAT AND THEN THEY WENT TO TANEESHA'S FOR A SLEEPOVER. THESE GIRLS ARE BEST OF FRIENDS!
KAITLYN HAD A FUN DAY WITH THE HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES AT SCHOOL AND THEN SHE AND HER FRIEND LAINE WENT TO THE TRUNK OR TREAT AT THE CHURCH AND THEN OUT TO A MASSIVE PARTY THAT OUR NEIGHBOR'S PUT ON FOR THEIR KIDS AND FRIENDS. (KAITLYN IS SUCH THE SOCIAL GIRL, JUST LIKE AMANDA.)
CARSON HAD SUCH A FUN DAY! HE HAD A PARTY AT DAYCARE/PRESCHOOL. HE COULDN'T WAIT FOR TRICK OR TREATING! WE WENT TRUNK OR TREATING AT THE CHURCH AND THEN I TOOK HIM WITH ME TO DROP KAITLYN OFF AT THE PARTY AT THE MATHIE'S SHOP AND PAM SPOILED HIM WITH A TON OF CANDY AND GOODIES. WE THEN STOPPED AT CARSON'S BEST PAL, CAMI (CAMI IS MY BEST PAL, TOO!) WHO WAS MAKING HOMEMADE DONUTS. OH SO YUMMY!
WE HURRIED HOME TO PARTY SOME MORE WITH AMANDA AND HER GANG! HALLOWEEN WAS SO MUCH FUN! THANK HEAVEN'S FOR OUR KIDS! THEY BRING US SO MUCH JOY!
Grandstands of Terror-What An Adventure!

My amazing beehive advisor, Erin and I decided to take our girls to the Grandstands of Terror at the fair grounds. We had such an amazing turnout! We had all but one of our girls (we missed you Rachel!) plus we had several non-members. So awesome that we had such a huge group. We split into 4 groups! Watching these young girls with such excitement and anticipation was priceless! We had a great time! We all survived despite some of the girls were terrified! Sorry girls! You are awesome! I sure love you!
Pumpkin Painting

Instead of carving pumpkins this year, we decided to paint them. They turned out really fun! One of my favorite joys is to see my kids so excited about life! They all took pride in making sure their pumpkin turned just right. Carson thought we messed up on his paint job until Brianne painted a face on it and it looked like a Wolf. Happy Halloween!
2nd Annual Shelley, Idaho Pumkin Walk

The Blackfoot Medical Clinic that I work for decided to put a display in the Shelly Pumkin Walk. Our theme was United We Stand In Health Care. Brianna Pearson, Sheila Tibbits, our amazing Adminstrator, Amanda and I worked on the display after all the planning to pull everything together.
I called mom and invited her to meet us at the Pumpkin Walk. I thought it would be fun for the kids to make some memories with their grandparents. Mom and Dad brought my nephews Kim and Keegan down with them. We had such a fun time! We first arrived when it was light outside, and then mom and dad treated us for dinner, and then decided to the let the kids play at the park and went back after dark and it was so much more stunning.
What a fun, festive activity to do to enjoy our beautiful fall weather. So many creative displays. (I hope I have not deleted pictures from our display or I'll be really sad.So for now I will display other fun photos until I can locate them.)
